This estate is now run by Robert Eymael from the Mönchhof estate. I don't think they supply direct to individual customers here in Britain. I tried emailing them a few years ago but they didn't reply.

2007 Ürziger Würzgarten Riesling Auslese ***
Very pale, almost water white. Obviously artificial acidity, right from the first sniff. Moderately rich and sweet, with high (albeit artificial) acidity. It certainly isn't unpleasant, but hardly natural. Usual 'Technicolor' flavours from the added acidity. Worse, this wine contains no recogiseable flavours whatsoever from the vineyard it was grown in, one of what is normally the most easily recognisable vineyards of all, Ürziger Würzgarten. To be honest it reminds me more of 7-up than anything I've ever previously tasted from Ürziger Würzgarten, and while this certainly isn't the worst wine I've ever tasted with artificial acidity, I do consider it to be highly dangerous to the fine reputation of German wine: it pretends to be a fine Riesling from a great vineyard, yet it certainly isn't that. I found it barely recognisable it as a Riesling at all, and it's really not my idea of a fine wine. The words 'silk' and 'purse' come to mind...
